Did you know...
Aglime should be applied to land only after representative soil samples have
been collected and tested, and that precision agriculture allows for site-specific
nutrient and aglime management and results in more efficient and profitable
use of aglime and fertilizers. |
As a full service distributor of agricultural lime products, Avon AgLime can
provide the proper liming materials to raise soil pH, and provide you with
lasting benefits. Although there are a variety of liming material options
from which to choose, it's always important to first have an accurate soil
test to determine existing pH and nutrient levels of the soil. If the need
for liming materials is determined, it's equally important to know the chemical
purity of liming material prior to application. This analysis will help you
determine the pounds of ENP (Effective Neutralizing Power) per acre to apply
to bring the soil pH to the desired level. This information is disclosed
with each delivery.
Calcitic Lime
Avon AgLime can provide it customers with calcitic products
that are calcium-based neutralizers. Approximately 80%
of the lime materials Avon AgLime sells is Calcitic Lime.
Dolomitic Lime
In instances where a soil test has revealed a shortage
of magnesium,Avon AgLime also provides dolomitic
sources of lime that contain both calcium and magnesium.
As part
of a fertilizer program, dolomitic lime is one of
the easiest and most
cost effective ways to add magnesium to soils.
